Today's NATO summit welcomed the commitment shown by Macedonia to NATO's shared values and its contribution to NATO operations. I know that the people of Macedonia will be disappointed not to have been given an invitation for membership today. I share their disappointment. However the summit was clear that an invitation will be issued to Macedonia. I am convinced that Macedonia's rightful place is as a member of NATO and I will be working for that to happen as soon as possible.

 

The UK Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) has launched a new blogging platform.
This is a new platform for UK Ministers to engage in a dialogue about international affairs and the work of the FCO. To begin with there will be six bloggers including Foreign Secretary David Miliband, and Europe Minister Jim Murphy, as well as staff from throughout the organisation. The FCO has also launched a new YouTube video channel and Flickr photo account.
